(More customer reviews)I bought this band excited by its claim to help shrink my belly post partum with the benefit that it had a lace pattern that I could wear under my shirts...however, it is not worth the money and was ineffective. After having a C-section, I was unable to get the band on in the first few days following surgery so I asked for an abdominal binder from the hospital instead. I was given a Dale abdominal binder free of charge which was not very attractive looking but did a far better job. The hospital binder was longer and elastic based material and so contoured to my belly as it deflated post-partum and stuck well on my hips when sitting, bending, reaching, etc. When the Belly Bandit actually fit weeks later, it did not contour to my belly, rode up above my hips when sitting and overall did not offer tight enough compression to help enable my abdominal area to become supported and heal. I would not recommend this product, especially if you have had a C-section.

The worst part about the miraculous arrival of your long-awaited newborn is the disappearance of your rock-hard abs. Okay, they were the size of the average beach ball, but your pregnant tummy was hard, was it not? Lots of cultures deal with this floppy mass of atrophied muscle and fat (hey, it's not pretty -- I'm not trying to sugar-coat things for you!) with some form of binding. The best I was able to do after having my twins was a corset, but that only worked for a week or so, because your belly will shrink. And once the corset is no longer snug, it won't do any good. The Belly Bandit is the answer! Hailed by moms and even one of my doctors (!), it's even good for after a C-section
