I was given a larger size (M) than I wore pre-pregnancy for immediately after the pregnancy, and I think that was a good idea. After a month or two, I felt ready for my regular size. I wore these and a wrap to support my overstretched abs, and it made me feel a lot better about my pouch. In about 4 months, there was a significant difference. These briefs are very comfy and hold up well. I wish that they came in packs of two and they are a little too pricey, that was my major complaint.
